How Google Tag Manager operates in advanced mode, what may be transmitted without cookies, and how to manage Analytics and Google Signals.
1. Default setting
On the first visit, the Google Tag Manager container loads immediately while analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization are denied by default. In advanced mode, Google may receive cookieless measurement pings before a choice. Rejecting is as easy as accepting and does not restrict any content or function.
2. Necessary technical storage
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
balzani-theme | First-party local storage | Remembers the requested light or dark theme. | Until deleted through the browser. |
balzani-consent-v2 | First-party local storage | Records separate Analytics and Google Signals choices, consent version and expiry on the device. | 180 days. |
These items have no advertising purpose and are necessary to provide requested settings and respect the user’s choice.
3. Optional cookies, identifiers and Google Signals
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Configured maximum duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics, first party | Pseudonymously distinguishes browsers and visits to produce statistics. | 180 days, subject to shorter browser limits. |
_ga_45FGZM7Q8R | Google Analytics, first party | Maintains session and measurement state for this website property. | 180 days, subject to shorter browser limits. |
When Analytics is authorised, online identifiers, device/browser data, viewed pages, referral source and approximate location may be collected. With the separate Google Signals choice, data from signed-in Google users who enabled Ads Personalisation and existing Google/DoubleClick cookies or identifiers may also be used for cross-device reports, demographics/interests and ad personalisation.
The website has no user accounts and does not send user_id, names, email addresses, telephone numbers, health data or user-provided data. Third-party cookies already set by Google cannot be read or deleted by this website.
4. Consent Mode
The website uses global advanced Consent Mode v2. The container loads with all Google consent types denied and may send cookieless pings containing consent state and technical information such as timestamp, user-agent, the URL without query/fragment, referrer origin and a random page-load number.
- Reject all: all four consent types remain denied; cookieless pings may continue.
- Analytics only:
analytics_storageis granted;ad_storage,ad_user_dataandad_personalizationremain denied. - Accept all / Google Signals: the three advertising consent types are also granted, allowing Signals and personalisation when enabled in the Google property.
5. Change or withdraw your choice
Withdrawal applies to future processing, restores denied consent and starts deletion of first-party Google cookies accessible to the website; in advanced mode it does not stop cookieless pings. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
